Mumur of Bees (below links transfer you to my Redbubble shop)
Ricky Board B&W Ricky Board (Pink) Ricky Board (Teal)These "Ricky Boards" were inspired by the beautiful novel The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia. The nameless insects in her book were so integral to the storyline that I wanted to give these remarkable, yet identical, creatures a personality.
I thought back to David Lynch's Ricky Boards that I saw in an exhibition and turned the bees into celebrities. (Celebribees!) Tom B could be Tom Burke, Tom Baker or Tom Berenger; Emily B could be Emily Bronte, Emily Blunt or Emily Baker...you get to decide how to make these little creatures personal to you.
"Four rows of five
Your rickies come alive
Twenty is plenty
It isn't tricky
Just name each ricky
Even though they're all the same
The change comes from the name." David Lynch
Strike and Robin (below link transfers you to my Redbubble shop)
I really like the characters Robert Galbraith has created for the Strike novels and I wanted some artwork of the two actors who inhabit the roles so well. You can now have the charcaters staring down from the wall at you, or perhaps up from your desk in the form of a desk mat. It's up to you to choose!
Tears of an Angel (below link transfers you to my Redbubble shop)
After reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, I was inspired to create a dark, gothic piece of art reflecting on the themes of the book. An angel statue is blurred by tears, reflecting on the tragic events that happened in Savannah.
